Ocean Exchange 2026: $330K in Non-Dilutive Prizes for Blue Economy Founders

Ocean Exchange 2026: $330K in Non-Dilutive Prizes for Blue Economy Founders

Ocean Exchange—the Fort Lauderdale-based 501(c)(3) that's been accelerating ocean innovation for over a decade—just released its 2026 timeline. If you're building in marine tech, ocean intelligence, alternative materials, vessel operations, or any solution touching healthy oceans and coastlines, pay attention.

The Money

Three Neptune Awards at $100,000 each. Three Collegiate Awards at $10,000 each. That's $330,000 in non-dilutive capital up for grabs.

But the real value is access. Winners present to 120+ voting delegates—senior executives and decision-makers from business, academia, government, and nonprofits who can open doors that matter. Seven prior finalists and winners have made Forbes 30 Under 30. Past winners include Coral Vita (later won the £1M Earthshot Prize) and Twelve (now in production partnerships with Virgin Voyages).

Key Dates to Mark

March 2026: Neptune and Collegiate applications open June 10, 2026: Europe, Middle East, Africa deadline June 12, 2026: Asia, Oceania, Rest of World deadline August 7, 2026: Americas deadline September 16, 2026: Collegiate deadline Late September 2026: Finalists announced October 25-27, 2026: Event in Fort Lauderdale, FL

Note the staggered deadlines by region. Americas founders get more runway, but don't sleep on it.

What They're Looking For

Solutions that are innovative, proactive, and scalable with working prototypes. Categories include ocean intelligence, ecosystem services, alternative materials, vessel emissions reduction, battery materials, data/robotics, fisheries, port operations, and water treatment.

The selection process involves a multi-level review by their Solutions Review Team before finalists pitch to delegates at the October event.

## Florida Founders: We Want You There

Ocean Exchange happens right here in Fort Lauderdale, and Florida's blue economy ecosystem is ready to support local founders in putting together strong applications.

Founding Blue, Marine Research Hub of South Florida, and other Florida organizations are here to help you navigate the process, sharpen your pitch, and make connections. This is a home game—let's show up.

If you're a Florida founder building in the blue economy space, reach out to us for support. We want more FL founders on that stage in October.

Bottom Line

Non-dilutive. Meaningful network access. Track record of winners going on to serious follow-on success. If you're building in this space and have a working prototype, there's no reason not to apply.
